Slow down: Accumulation conveyor systems

What an accumulation conveyor system can do

A jam doesn't always have to be bad! If planned correctly, it can also be the solution in your production process that has a positive overall effect on your process.

As an engineer or production manager, you can use our accumulating conveyors to create buffer and accumulation zones in your production. What we at modular automation call an accumulation conveyor system is perhaps also known to you as a spiral accumulator or spiral conveyor. In some places, however, accumulation conveyor systems are also known as serpentine conveyors, spiral accumulation conveyors or Alpine conveyors.

If you are also looking for a technology that provides you with buffer or accumulation zones in the production process, modular automation is the right address for you.

Flexibility and autonomy thanks to Alpine conveyor

Create flexibility and autonomy for yourself and increase your overall efficiency.

Our accumulating conveyor systems allow you to pass through or drive through the production line. This is made possible by the serpentine design of the accumulation conveyor systems: Your products are accumulated over a longer conveyor section in a very confined space so that your production can then pick up speed again.

At modular automation, we distinguish between two types of accumulating conveyors:

Inline accumulation conveyor

Inline accumulation conveyors are always integrated into the conveyor line. Here, your goods are transported continuously through the conveyor section of the accumulation conveyor.

Bypass accumulation conveyor:

The bypass accumulation conveyor is an optional conveyor section that is connected to the conveyor line. It is only filled with transported goods if they are to be accumulated. This may be the case in the event of a machine breakdown, for example.

You can rely on these advantages with Alpine Conveyor, even in your industry:

The advantages of Alpine conveyors, accumulating conveyors, spiral conveyors

  • Saving space

  • Comprehensive functionalities such as accumulation, drying, cooling, height interlinking can be realised in one conveyor

  • Even capacity utilisation of your production

  • Reduction of product jams (where desired)

  • Uncomplicated design thanks to modularity

  • Fast compensation of machine failures, changeovers and production fluctuations

  • Smooth processes thanks to uncomplicated connection of lines with different speeds

  • Connection to control system for targeted logistics

  • Alignment of machines with different cycle times

  • Detectably better machine utilisation

  • Easy bridging of height differences

Popular in these sectors:

The incredible range of functionalities offered by modular automation's accumulating conveyor systems make them popular solutions in almost all industries.

Whether purely for accumulation, drying or cooling, levelling out height differences and much more - accumulation conveyor systems are indispensable technologies in modern production.
